Biography

I live and work in Helsinki. I am a lawyer by profession, and as an artist, I am self-taught. I have felt a need for creative expression for a long time, but I only began my artistic work later in life, following personal experiences. Painting opened a gateway to pause and self-reflection.

Artist Statement

Memory and memories is at the center of my interest. The starting point for my paintings is often a specific moment I wish to return to. I am intrigued by what we remember, and why. I am fascinated by how past experiences become layered and intertwined in our minds.

I work instinctively, exploring colors, techniques, and forms of expression. My works are primarily oil paintings, but I also use oil pastels, among others. I experiment with colors and materials. My working process is intuitive. I want to challenge the possibilities of materials and techniques and find new ways for my own expression.
